SIXBYSIX
Group Exhibition
SIXBYSIX consists of 152 6×6″ works created using a wide array of materials.
In February 2024, an open call was issued, inviting artists to participate in a group exhibition. The only criterion given to the artists was that the final piece had to be no more than 6 inches wide. They were encouraged to use a 6×6” wooden panel as a starting point. However, they could use it as a traditional 2D surface, flip it and use it as a shadow box, as a support for a sculptural piece or even as a container! They were also told that innovation would be rewarded.
Of course, being creative by nature, many artists were up for the challenge!
155 artists submitted 344 works for consideration. We chose 152 of our favourites for the exhibition.
