VANISHING
ARTIST
Nicolle Bussien
Since my Bachelor in Fine Arts at the HKB (Bern University of the Arts) in 2015, I’ve been participating in national and international exhibitions. My work moves across the artistic research field of multiperspectivity such as the perspective structure of moving images. I am investigating the mutual influence of different angles, such as camera, protagonists or audience. I understand the multiplication of viewpoints as a means of relativizing the perceived “reality” and strengthening plurality.

PROJECT
0 Diopter
The boundaries of the clouds are blurry.
The monitor becomes an illusory window where the clouds pass by. While looking meditatively at the clouds the absent-mindedness is suddenly disturbed by drops. Only the droplets of the sprayed window cleaner make the glass pane and therefore the distance between the viewer and the clouds visible. After the cleaning, it becomes clear that the clouds were never in focus of the camera. The cleaning hand is displayed in life-size. The windowpane comes together with the surface of the flat screen. 0 diopter is a video that is watched on but also beyond the monitor.
