Katie So - The Way I See It

Katie So frequently absorbs diverse visual stimuli as a crucial part of their creative process. They engage in walks and outdoor experiences, immersing themselves in the environment with heightened attention to detail. This interaction serves as a form of nourishment, essential for their ability to concentrate.

This series of monochromatic paintings embodies this sensory-seeking behaviour. The subject matter remains rooted in the floral and botanical realm, featuring abstract forms and kinetic mark-making. The monochromatic palette reflects the artist’s visual sensitivity to light. These paintings serve as a sensory soothing exercise during the creation process, aiming to communicate not only the artist’s perspective but also their unique experience of the visual world.
