THIS Gallery is Moving
I am so excited to announce that the gallery will be moving from its current location on the second floor of 475 Main Street to a retail unit right next door at 485 Main Street.
The move to retail is an exciting opportunity for more exposure, to visually connect with people on the street, and to remove the existing barrier of the intercom. Ultimately, of course, the hope is that we would draw more visitors to the gallery.
As Vancouver residents know, this block of Main Street can be difficult. Open drug use and petty crime are the norm. So for now, the relocation will be on a trial basis. If the new location is untenable, then the gallery will retreat back upstairs to the current location. It should be decided (one way or another) by the end of March, 2023. Or maybe April, we’ll see.
The new space needs a fresh coat of paint and a cleaning (and a smaller ladder), so the gallery will be closed for the month of December. You will be able to visit the new location starting in January for our next exhibition, featuring Mengya Zhao! The opening reception is Saturday, January 7th from noon to 5.
See you then,
Shannon
